The LAUREL & HARDY Revue 1954 - Includes the full 'DRIVER'S LICENCE SKETCH'    MS.CD.680   53 mins

Already 2 years in the making, here is the basis for a new theatre show paying tribute to the world's greatest and most-popular comedy duo. Loved throughout the world, in all languages and in over a hundred films, Laurel and Hardy were the starting point for every comedy act that followed.

Featuring DAN  LAUREL and OLIVER HARDLY, this is a brand-new departure in live theatre. The original duo toured Britain between 1947 and 1954 doing three sketches. The first of these 'The Driver's Licence Sketch' is recorded on audio for the first time from the original script - the only difference being a female cop! All of the music used was popular before 1954, the year they went home and is performed by the Kentucky Bluebirds and Georgia Jackson.

DAN  LAUREL and OLIVER HARDLY not only look like them, and act like them - but dance like them and sing like them. They feature in a variety of sketches in the show to illustrate the lasting legacy of the duo. In original costume, and behaviour, they update Monty Python, The Two Ronnies, Ken Dodd, Morecambe and Wise and others - who all owe a large portion of their success to the groundwork of the original pair. A DVD will be released soon.

The show is a step back in time - nostalgic, gentle humour, that is so hard to find nowadays.
